DIET

They are carnivore so they only eat animals like birds, small mammals and especially snakes.  Also, sometimes frogs and toads.

INTERESTING FACTS

Red tailed hawk have been known to live only 30 years in captivity and shorter life span in the wild.  they also can spot a mouse from 100 meters high.

HABITAT

Red Tailed Hawks like to live in open areas, such as fields or deserts also red tailed hawks are adaptable so the sometimes live on mountain.

PREDATORS / ADAPTATION

Some predators of red tailed Hawks are Raccoons, Great Horned Owls and Red fox.

BEHAVIOR

Red tailed hawks are usually circling high over a field.  They attack their prey in a slow dive with legs stretched different from a falcons stoop.

STATUS

They are carnivores so they eat animal and widespread. Increased in some areas. Most red tailed hawks at the northern countries migrate while the rest is resident.
